Technology Legislation Town Hall & Tour of KHEC Kingsport Higher Education Center
The Northeast Tennessee Technology Council has partnered with 1st District Congressman Phil Roe to sponsor a "Technology Legislation Town Hall" at the Kingsport Higher Education Center on Wednesday, February 17th from 8:30am-9:30am. Congressman Roe will give a brief presentation on technology related legislative issues, with Q&A. Kathy Thacker, Director of the KHEC, will be providing a tour of their new facility after the Town Hall.
A light breakfast and social time will be held from 8:00am-8:30am.
The Kingsport Higher Education Center is located at 320 W. Market St.,

The Northeast Tennessee Technology Council is sponsoring a tour of the new Franklin Woods Community Hospital (FWCH). This event will be held at FWCH on Thursday 4/8/10, 1:00pm-2:30pm. FWCH has been built to be certified as a Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) facility. A brief presentation on the medical, information, and green technologies that make FWCH unique will be given along with a sneak preview tour. Franklin Woods is scheduled to open to the public in July. Rob Johnson, Project Superintendent for Skanska (the construction firm) will lead the tour. Dennis Georgatos, Senior Project Manager for Skanska will also share insight into the project plan, including the green initiative. Rich Rairigh, Senior Director of Information Technology at Mountain States Health Alliance will speak to the technologies to be used at FWCH. Rhonda Mann, Chief Nursing Officer for FWCH will also be present to answer any patient care related questions.

Tour of Tri-Cities Airport by ASQ

Chamber members are invited to attend the American Society for Quality (ASQ) tour of Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI) airport facilities on Thursday May 6th.
Non-ASQ members are encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes view of Tri-Cities Regional Airport operations. TRI airport is a vital asset which is essential to regional business success. Learn what the airport is doing to better serve us, and how we can help the airport be more successful. We hope to see you there showing support for Tri-Cities Regional Airport.
For planning purposes reservations must be received by noon April 30 (CLICK HERE for online reservations). For dinner reservations the meal is $12 for guests (payable at the door). The tour is available without dinner. The airport tour is available to the first 46 registering and airport parking is free (see details below).

Technology-Focused Joint Legislative Meeting, recognizing Gatton College of Pharmacy's First Graduating Class 8:00am-9:15am
College of Pharmacy, Mountain Home The Johnson City/Jonesborough/Washington County Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Tennessee Technology Council have partnered to hold a special technology-focused joint legislative meeting, highlighting the Gatton College of Pharmacy on the occasion of its first graduating class. This event will be held at the College.
Dr. Larry Calhoun, Dean of the Gatton College of Pharmacy, will provide an update on the College. State and Federal legislators and delegates will be present to provide updates on technology-related legislative issues. The Northeast Tennessee Technology Council will share information on efforts to build and support a technology-based economy. A tour of the College will be provided immediately following the meeting.
